Long Run
Member of FOCAL International and the Audiovisual Producers’ Association of Greece (SAPOE)
Long Run Productions is an Athens-based documentary production company founded in 2020, specialising in creative non-fiction for cinema, television and social media.
In its first six years the company has produced award-winning feature documentaries, the prime-time dramatised series Dark Decade 1964–1974 (SKAI, 2024) and international co-productions. In 2026 Long Run completed four feature documentaries — The Way Elsewhere, Born Twice, At No Cost and Six Letters for a River. Three premiered in competition at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival in March 2026, two winning jury awards, and have gone on to festivals including CPH:DOX, Kassel DokFest and Ierapetra.
The company has a particular track record in historically and culturally grounded subjects, in co-productions with institutions such as the Greek National Opera and the Venizelos Foundation, and in developing first-time feature directors. It works with the Greek Film Centre (EKKOMED – Creative Greece) and ERT, and presented its slate at Cannes Docs in 2024 and 2025.

Leonidas Liambeys

In March 2026, three films produced by Leonidas Liambeys premiered at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival: At No Cost (dir. Mairy Bouli) won the Golden Alexander “Dimitri Eipides” in the Newcomers International Competition; The Way Elsewhere (dir. Eirini Vourloumis) competed in the International Competition before its international premiere in CPH:DOX Next:Wave; and Born Twice (dir. Stelios Kouloglou) won the Youth Jury Award. Six Letters for a River (dir. Markos Holevas) was completed in 2026.
A Greek-British producer, he is one of the producers selected for Emerging Producers 2027, the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival’s programme for European producers, attending the programme’s first session at Ji.hlava in October 2026. He holds the 2025 Hellenic Film Academy Iris Award for Best Documentary as Associate Producer of Elina Psykou’s Stray Bodies (Eurimages; CPH:DOX 2024), and has presented Long Run’s slate at Cannes Docs in 2024 and 2025. His archive producer credits include Titanic Ocean (K. Kotzamani, Un Certain Regard, Cannes 2026) and Exergue (D. Athiridis, Berlinale 2024).
Leonidas has over eighteen years of creative production and research experience across Greek and international co-productions, primarily in non-fiction film and television, as well as multimedia exhibitions and social media campaigns. He co-designed, installed and opened the exhibitions Twice a Stranger (Deutsches Historisches Museum, Benaki Museum, Leventis Museum, University of Oxford) and Balkan Tale (Goethe-Institut). As Associate and Line Producer he worked on co-productions with HBO Europe, NatGeo, Eurimages, the Greek Film Centre and the Italian Film Centre, among others. He received the 2014 FOCAL International Award for Best Use of Archive Footage in a History Production for Silent Balkans.
He holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford and a Diploma in Painting and Sculpture from the Athens School of Fine Arts, and has worked as a political risk analyst, journalist, teacher and visual artist.
